MARTIN donates defibrillator

Some 100,000 people die from sudden heart failure in Germany each year, among them also healthy, young and active people. A defibrillator which can terminate cardiac arrhythmia by electric shocks often serves as last-minute rescue.
During a small ceremony managing director Uwe Schiemann handed over an Automated External Defibrillator to local representatives of the community of Ottobeuren. The life-saving device, by the way the first to be accessible around the clock in Ottobeuren, was installed in the foyer of the local savings bank in the presence of mayor German Fries and branch manager Martin Weber. Mr. Schiemann praised the smooth cooperation with the savings bank and local representatives. The community of Ottobeuren will now take over maintenance and care of the unit.
