Electrical table rings
Modern touchscreen control unit
Motorised positioning of feed support
Modern HSK 85 interface
Touchscreen control unit
Each T27 is equipped with a modern, intuitive 5.7″ touchscreen control unit. Self-explanatory coloured icons, comprehensible text messages and the clearly arranged menu structure support even inexperienced operators and ensure first-class work results. The even clearer 10.4″ screen is available as an option.
Fence
The bilaterally guided fence provides the highest precision exactly where it counts. It is set via hand wheel according to a digital display in the control unit in the basic version of the T27. The motorised version is controlled completely electronically. If the fence has to be removed from the machine table, e.g. for moulding on the ring fence, no time-consuming referencing is required after re-configuration owing to the precise and reliable mechanical fittings.
Table rings
The electrical table rings invented by MARTIN in 1999 can be infinitely variably adapted quickly and efficiently to tools with diameters between 70 and 250 mm. You will quickly appreciate this capability, especially in the T27 FleX tilting arbor spindle moulder, because the table opening can also be perfectly adjusted to the tilting tool here.
Feed support
The feed support with electric motor positioning, together with its ingenious latching mechanism, provides genuine workload relief. The height adjustment of the feed unit can be easily specified and approached via controller and can also be integrated in the programs. The setting of the depth of the feed can be very easily adjusted thanks to the ball-raced guide. And if the feed is currently not required, it can be simply swivelled away to one side – without losing the previously made settings.
Composite frame
The machine frame is a sturdy and thick-walled composite structure – a frame construction whose design can only be found with such perfection in MARTIN machines. There are many manufacturers on the market who like to call their frames “composite”. If you examine them more closely, however, you will quickly discover that we at MARTIN are the only manufacturer of standard machines to use steel and concrete in a genuine composite construction. One component is of no use without the other, only the intelligent combination of the materials provides a first-class frame. This frame offers the customer the perfect basis for superior work.
Controls and Features
Infinitely variable rotational speed control
The infinitely variable rotational speed control for the cutter spindle enables you to tailor the speed of the tool perfectly to the demands of the work step within a range of 1,000 to 12,000 rpm – even during operation. Thanks to the large speed range, small high-speed tools such as end mills or T-groove mills can be easily used at an ideal cutting speed. Motors are available from 7.5 to 11 kW to provide the required power.
Motorised positioning of the fence
Motorised positioning of the fence is an extremely useful addition to the T27, irrespective of whether a spindle moulder or tilting arbor spindle moulder is concerned. You can therefore make the most frequent settings for a spindle cutter, the cutting height and depth, with the complete support of the controller, because the electronics are now responsible for doing what you once did via hand wheel. The fence settings are approached with pinpoint accuracy owing to the extremely high reproducibility of ± 0.025 mm. Even critical settings can be accurately positioned. Like the cutting height in the basic equipment, the cutting depth is therefore also a component of any program, and the controller carries out the positioning in accordance with program specifications.
Motorised positioning of the infeed jaw
Motorised positioning of the infeed jaw presents itself when the purely digital display is no longer sufficient. You obtain complete control over the fence with this option, which is only available in conjunction with electromotive positioning of the fence. You make all settings on the fences from the controller. This option is recommended for users who frequently carry out extensive moulding operations on the workpiece.
HSK quick-change system
The new HSK tool interface is the ideal extension for users who regard their spindle cutter as an effective supplement to their CNC machining centre or wish to change their tools quickly and easily as a unit with the arbor. If the basic T12 machine is equipped with MARTIN’s proven DornFix quick-change system, the pneumatic HSK system can be selected as an option. Using this technology, you can change the tool / arbor unit within a few seconds. Especially when working with end mills or T-groove mills, the HSK system will result in enormous set-up time savings.
Integral fence jaws
The fence opening should always be closed as much as possible, so that the workpiece can be safely guided and slide along the fence. Both are provided by the tried-and-tested integral fence. The bars of the jaws consist of hard-coated aluminium and can be easily folded in position, released and also varied in height. The bar cassettes can also be removed effortlessly, allowing you to work with a wooden insert.
AutoLock fence jaw clamping system
Fence jaws are moved on a regular basis for optimum adjustment of the fence opening to the tool. But how often is the clamping forgotten about afterwards and the jaws are damaged? The optional AutoLock fence jaw clamping system ensures secure clamping of the standard and integral fence jaws in a simple and safe manner. The jaws are always securely clamped by spring force. The clamping is only released with the easily accessible levers for adjustment. Completely without an electrical or pneumatic system.
Centrex guard
The Centrex stands out due to perfect functionality, an attractive design as well as optimum placement on the fence housing. All the functions can be quickly and easily set with only a few steps and without tools. The special form of the pressure shoes guarantees precise workpiece guidance with high visibility of the work step. Pressure can also be exerted on the workpiece for insert cutting.
Table extensions
The table extensions are executed in cast iron on both sides and connected to the machine table completely without a transition. The stable extendable support provides support at the front. The processing of large components therefore becomes a simple matter.
Swinging support for fence
The more you work with the curved moulding fence, the more you will appreciate the benefits of this accessory. If you have to remove the fence from the machine table, the swinging support is there to help you. Using this support, you simply release the fence from the table, lift it with the hand wheel, and swing it into the parking position. The machine table is free in no time and you can attach the requisite special safety guards without any problems with space.
Sliding table
The sliding table is the ideal partner irrespective of whether you profile larger cross-sections across the grain, cut counter profiles or carry out tenoning and mortising tenoning work. The sturdy table provides a large and safe support and can be turned in both directions by up to 45°, and even up to 65° in the case of the fence. As a result, diagonally cut workpieces, e.g. in special window construction, can also be securely clamped and processed. The sliding table has a large travel of 1,400 mm, in order to be able to extend it for the safe processing of large workpieces. Tools up to 350 mm ø can be safely used on a 40 mm arbor with the supplied mortising guard. If the sliding table is not required, it forms a perfect left-hand table extension, since the table can be lowered to machine table level. The guide beam can be easily moved to the rear and is thereby level with the front of the machine.
Spring collets for cutter arbor
If you also wish to use your router tools, normally end mills, on the spindle cutter, the collet arbor is the ideal option for your spindle cutter. The spring collets are easy to exchange and available for end mill shank diameters of 3-25 mm, so that the arbor can be used flexibly. The fence of the T27 can be also mounted further towards the rear by 125 mm for easy cutting of dovetail joints. The optional infinitely variable speed adjustment is recommended in conjunction with small tool diameters.
BowmouldMaster
This optional safety and working device enables the quick and safe moulding of curved workpieces, also with the feed unit. The BowmouldMaster can be quickly and easily mounted and adjusted on the machine table without any tools and enables moulding to be carried out in an anti-clockwise and clockwise direction. It is supplied instead of the standard CPS Tapoa 08 guard. You can either work with a ring fence (option) or a curved moulding fence (option).
Fence for insert cutting
This optional retrofittable fence is a useful aid for dangerous insert cutting jobs. It enables you to process such jobs accurately and safely. This accessory can also be mounted on the left-hand extension of the table length, making it possible to position grooves exactly. The start and stop point are determined simply and precisely and with high repetition accuracy. When this option is not needed, the fence can be simply folded under the table length extension without any problems. Unfortunately this option cannot be provided without the table length extensions.
