Operation
Even in the basic version of the T60A, the cutting height and angle are adjusted by electric motor via push-button, and the cutting angle is digitally displayed. If the machine is equipped with a scorer, the scoring height and width are set by electric motor with the machine running.
Sliding table
The MARTIN steel guide system, which has been continuously optimised since 1959, is used as a sliding table guide in our sliding table saws. The unbeatable advantage of the system is the absence of play owing to the functional principle combined with the permanent smooth and easy movement of the table. The fact that the tempered running surfaces are permanently lubricated with oil is a particular quality characteristic. Dust and dirt are thereby prevented from sticking permanently to the sliding surfaces and the movement of the table provides constant self-cleaning. Another important quality characteristic is that plastic parts are dispensed with in this component, which is so important for the cutting quality. The replaceable table lip – unique to MARTIN – easily enables the damage caused by large deflected saw blades to be “undone”. The table can be arrested every 20 mm. You thereby fix the table exactly in the position which is appropriate for you at the moment. No matter if you are working with jigs or applying material, the table is always positioned exactly where it is required.
Cross-cut fence
Fine adjustment is regarded as an indispensable quality feature of a good cross-cut fence by experienced woodworkers. The cutting dimension often only has to be altered by just a small amount, which is almost impossible without fine adjustment. It is all the better that both stop elements of the cross-cut fence on a T60A are provided with a magnifier and fine adjustment. The cross-cut fence also stands out because of the smooth operation of the fence carriages. Both stop elements run on high-quality linear bearings made of wear-resistant high-performance polymer and can be used over the entire length of the fence jaw. The cross-cut fence can be used in either the front or rear position of the cross-cut table with just a simple movement and no need for lifting. The tilting angle can be infinitely adjusted up to 50° in either position according to a scale. The corrected cutting dimension is conveniently and precisely calculated for any desired angle by the controller.
Rip fence guide
The rip fence of the T60C can be easily manually moved and set very accurately thanks to the precise fine adjustment. The design deliberately dispenses with a simple round rod guide. Instead, the fence is sophisticatedly and precisely guided via four heavy-duty grooved ball-bearings, and the jaw moves freely over the table without support. If large panels have to be cut, the rip fence can be removed from the carriage in no time at all. The optional hand wheel enables the cutting dimension to be set from the operating position over the full cutting width.
Hand wheel for positioning the rip fence
The optional hand wheel adjustment allows you to control the rip fence of the T60A comfortably from the operating position – entirely without electronic control. The easy-to-read travelling digital display enables precise settings to be made to a tenth of a millimetre. The fence is also locked down and released from the operating position.
Controls and Features
Cutting height package
The cutting height package for the T60A increases the max. cutting height of the machine to 130 mm. The motor now has a power of 5.5 kW and the saw blade can work with 3 speeds. A useful accessory for anyone who cuts solid wood to size.

Scoring saw unit
You comfortably set the scoring position left/right and the scoring height of the optional unit via electric motor in the T60A. Pushbuttons on the front of the machine make the fine adjustment child’s play. It goes without saying that all settings are stored and not lost when switching off the unit / machine. A special feature of our scorer is the pneumatic lifting / lowering of the scoring saw blades. As a result, the unit is activated in seconds and also quickly taken out of service again. This reduces noise and increases safety.
SafeLight
If the scorer is running, the light integrated in the table insert draws the operator’s attention to the operating situation. MARTIN thereby provides the user with a considerable increase in safety.
ScribeMaster
The optional “ScribeMaster” scoring saw system allows the scoring width to be easily set on the stationary scoring saw unit. Fiddling around with shims between the scoring saw blades is a thing of the past.
Cross-cut table
The sturdy cross-cut table is part of the basic equipment of the T60A saw. The cross-cut fence can be used in either the front or rear position of the cross-cut table with just a simple movement. The large angle scale integrated in the table allows precise mitre cuts between 0° and 50° to be executed by simply turning the cross-cut fence.
Mitre cross-cut table
Otto Martin invented the mitre cross-cut table more than 50 years ago to enable operators to make precise angle cuts on larger panels. This popular accessory has been steadily improved and optimised since that time. Whereas a scale was all that was required to set mitre cuts in 1958, the latest table includes a modern digital angle display and a fine angle adjustment. The fence can be tilted on both sides to any angle up to 47°, and the angle is displayed with a resolution of 0.01°. A strong central lock ensures reliable repeatability of the correct angle. It is not without good reason that more than three quarters of all the customers who buy MARTIN sliding table saws opt for the sturdiness, functionality and precision of this impressive invention.
2-point cross-cut fence
As an option, you have the possibility of equipping the T60A with the tried-and-tested Martin 2-point cross-cut fence, so that the workpiece can be aligned at two points. Only in this way can slightly convex first cuts, perhaps caused by stresses in the board, also be precisely cut at an angle. Cutting lengths of 190 – 2020 mm can be set quickly and extremely accurately thanks to the scale, which can be easily read with the integrated magnifier, and the standard fine adjustment for the inner stop element. The quick clamp enables you to change the ball-raced stop element quickly from dimension to dimension and cut lengths up to 3310 mm with the extendable outboard stop.
If you prefer to work with digitally exact dimensions, the digital cross-cut fence (photo) is the right option: The inner and outer stop work with separate measuring devices and can therefore be independently set with an accuracy of a tenth of a millimetre. Each display can be changed over to display relative dimensions, in order to execute incremental cuts quickly, for example.

Cross-cut fence with full-length support
As an option, you can also equip the T60A with the heavy-duty cross-cut fence with flip stops and full-length support. In contrast to the standard version, this version has a heavy-duty construction. As in the case of a 2-point alignment, the inner stop element with fine adjustment and scale magnifier can be precisely adjusted. The quick clamp of the stop element supports quick dimension change between 205 and 2020 mm, whereas lengths up to 3310 mm can be set with the extendable outboard stop.
The fence provides the highest dimensional accuracy in the digital version (photo). Two easy-to-read LCD displays work independently of each other and the display is accurate to 0.1 mm. Incremental settings are also possible and incremental dimensions can therefore be processed very quickly.

Electronic display of the cutting width
The optional digital display for the rip fence, which travels along on the rip fence, greatly facilitates the precise setting of the fence. Recurring cuts can be reproduced very precisely thanks to the display resolution of 0.1 mm and the standard fine adjustment of the rip fence. The display of the fence position (upright / flat) is converted via a pushbutton. The measuring system operates contactlessly and is wear-free.
MitreX
The optional analogue or digital fence is characterised by a high setting precision thanks to a large angle scale and the supplementary digital angle display. The mitres can be cut from two sides. Apart from a precise mitre cut, an exact length on the workpiece is also required in most application cases. A length compensation was therefore provided for ten preferred angles (0°, 5°, 10°, 15°, 22,5°, 30°, 45°, 50°, 60° and 67.5°). The fences can be used on alternating sides and permit cutting lengths from 90 – 1,375 mm. An excellent feature of the MitreX is the utility model-protected tear-out prevention block, which guarantees tear-free cuts. It is also just as useful for cutting after marking out. The one-handed clamping means that attachment to the sliding table is simplicity itself. The fence is very stable but nevertheless lightweight and is supplied with a wall bracket.
Clamping and sawing system
The optional clamping and sawing system for sliding table saws is designed for the ergonomic, safe and efficient cutting of workpieces. The new system is an effective guard which can be installed and adjusted in no time without the need for tools. When sawing oblique, short, narrow and wedge-shaped workpieces of different sizes, the health and safety regulations are often disregarded based on the assumption that it is quicker that way. The new guard for sliding table saws puts an end to the excuses as it makes the safe option impressively quick without the need for tools or any significant loss of time. The clamping and sawing system is available in a standard and a comfort version. A storage board for wall mounting which is suitable for both versions ensures that each individual component of this workplace protection device is always in the right place and quickly to hand.
Front support table
Lengthy, narrow workpieces are best cut with appropriate support. The foldable optional front support table helps to guide the workpiece safely on the rip fence.
Second support
The optional second support supports you in the true sense of the word. It is easily attached to the sliding table and simplifies the cutting-to-size of larger boards to a considerable extent. The workpieces are securely supported by the 600 mm long support and can therefore be perfectly cut.
Enhanced by the “rip fence” option, the support becomes a perfect rip fence which assists you e.g. in trimming work.
